Louis and Gray Summit was the original U.S. Route T will eventually end, once again, at Route 100 northwest of I-44 and continue down Route 100 all the way to five miles (8 km) north of Linn (where Route 100 ends), and the Lewis and Clark Trail turns off onto Route C. From Kirkwood Rd in Kirkwood to three miles (5 km) west of Wildwood is one section, where the trail turns off on Route T. Most of Route 100 is part of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Due to the nearby east terminus of I-44, there is no interchange with I-55 at the state route's terminus. The route ends just east of South Broadway, at the Interstate 55 overpass. Route 100 continues east on Chouteau Avenue towards Downtown St. Louis where the name changes from "Manchester Road" to "Manchester Avenue." As Manchester Avenue crosses Vandeventer Avenue, the highway becomes Chouteau Avenue. Route 100 then passes through the smaller suburbs of Warson Woods, Glendale, Rock Hill, Brentwood, and Maplewood.Īfter leaving Maplewood, Route 100 continues into the independent City of St. East of Ellisville, Route 100 enters Kirkwood there, Manchester Road intersects Kirkwood Road (the name given to Lindbergh Boulevard in Kirkwood), which carries US 61/ 67. The route crosses over Interstate 270, the St. Route 100 then runs through a swath of unincorporated territory en route to Des Peres. It then divides Manchester from Winchester, Missouri before wholly entering Manchester, where it has a single-point urban interchange (SPUI) with Route 141. What does the project include?īesides the resurfacing and sidewalk work, MoDOT will replace some signals and make updates to storm sewers and medians. At this point, there will be roadway construction impacts, but the exact impacts have not yet been determined. In addition, crews may rebuild many of the businesses entrances however, they will make sure customers can access the business at all times.Ī portion of the project will replace the bridge over Black Creek west of the Manchester and Hanley intersection. This may require some short lane closures. During sidewalk construction, crews will work in either MoDOT’s right of way or private property in which the department has obtained an easement. Most of the resurfacing work will take place overnight, with up to two lanes closed – traffic will shift to either side, but during most days, all lanes will remain open. As a part of that project, MoDOT is planning to make significant improvements to sidewalks along as much of the corridor as possible, including ensuring the sidewalks meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. In late 2020, the Missouri Department of Transportation is planning to resurface Manchester Road (Missouri Route 100) between Lindbergh and Big Bend.
